SUMMARY: 
The Group Clinician is responsible for working with children/youth and their families of various racial/cultural groups in a school-based setting. The primary role of the Group Clinician is facilitating daily therapeutic groups in a classroom setting for children Pre-K to grade 6. The Group Clinician may also provide other therapeutic services on-site to include coordination of services, crisis intervention and stabilization, training, mental health education, and linkage to necessary community resources.  This position requires timely documentation of services, maintenance of appropriate clinical documentation and attendance and participation in supervision and staff meetings.  This position reports to the Clinical Manager and requires supervision on a scheduled basis.

PRIMARY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

Accountable for mental health treatment of children and families including group therapy, and individual or family therapy services as needed.

Coordinate, facilitate and document group and individual experiences that foster growth in learning skills, play activities, interaction with others, interpersonal skills, self-image development and behavior control.

Contribute to creating a welcoming and inclusive environment for our clients, colleagues and community partners from diverse backgrounds and experiences.

Integrate principles of Trauma Informed Care in all aspects of work.
Maintain accurate documentation of direct and indirect services provided in accordance with ODMH, ADAMH, and agency standards.

Gather statistical and research information to be used for outcome purposes.

Assist with planning for school and summer programming and special events.

Provide coverage for programming as needed across the agency.

Intervene, as needed, to protect the children or the environment.

Provide crisis intervention as necessary.

Participate in staff and team meetings, staff development and in-service training, and regular supervisory conferences.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Social Work/Counseling with current license in the State of Ohio (LSW/LISW) preferred.  
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in related field with group facilitation experience eligible.
Previous experience working with school-age and/or pre-school children preferred
Rendering Provider number required based on level of licensure.
National Provider Identification number required.
Valid Driver’s License and Proof of Auto Liability Insurance Coverage.

SKILLS & ABILITIES:
Proficiency with MS Windows and Outlook.
Ability to complete and turn in paperwork in a timely fashion. 
Ability to maintain high degree of empathy and compassion in meeting the needs of our clients and client families.  
Ability to build strong bonds with employees and managers to foster open, honest and candid communication. 
Ability to multi-task and maintain organization in a fast paced, changing environment. 
Ability to manage change in an organization reengineering its culture and approach to workload management. 
Ability to create and maintain highest levels of confidentiality when dealing with client information, SVFC proprietary information and sensitive situations.
Ability to successfully operate with ambiguous guidelines where ethical decisions will be required.
Ability to work and contribute as member of team.
Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from clients, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community. 
Ability to complete, interpret and respond to clinical documentation inquiries. 
Ability to communicate sensitive information to client families and employees.
