Job Title: Finance and Development Assistant
Reports to: Finance Manager
Job Description
The Finance and Development Assistant performs a variety of general finance and accounting tasks:maintain accounting journals, ledgers and other records detailing financial business transactions, disbursements, expense vouchers, receipts, accounts payable and receivables, enters data into QuickBooks and Donor Perfect daily, prepares documents for the administration and the Finance Manager and/or Finance Director upon request.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
· Record accounts payable and accounts receivable.
· Prepare and review for accuracy accounts receivable and payable reports
· Review and prepare credit card accounts.
· Reviews detailed general ledger form is classified entries; correct mis-classified entries.
· Data entry into system fixed asset purchases,loans and depreciations.
· Prepares Weekly Accounts Report with charts (or as requested) for Finance Manager and Finance Director.
· Works closely with Finance Manager and Administration to ensure accuracy in all accounting related records and for maintaining compliance with all company policies and procedures.
· Keeps records safe and properly filed and stored.
· Print and distribute checks for vendor payments.
· Work with vendors to resolve any discrepancies in a timely and efficient manner.
· Prepare additional reporting as needed.
· Assist with pulling documents and invoicing funders.
· Support compilation of accounting/finance reports to support annual audit.
· Will perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
· Work experience as a finance assistant or similar role.
· Good knowledge of accounting and bookkeeping procedures.
· Advanced MS Excel skills (creating spreadsheets and using financial functions).
· Great attention to detail.
· Must have proven record for accuracy and a high degree of maintaining confidentiality
Knowledge and Skills
· Demonstrated knowledge of QuickBooks.
· Strong ability to generate reports using QuickBooks, Donor Perfect and Excel.
· Adheres to high personal standards of reliability, openness, and consistency of actions with words.
· Ability to organize and manage time.
